We offer a one stop shop for organic Moroccan products under one roof, at an affordable rate to customers whilst maximizing the environmental and social impact of the products listed on the platform.
We started this project to work with the best Moroccan women's cooperatives to source organic oils and other natural Moroccan cosmetics.
SOURCING OF PRODUCTS
All products listed on Lovely Bee are sourced from a network of women run co-operatives in Morocco.
Products are carefully selected to provide the best value for money among the available organic and natural products.
All products listed are organic. Oils are pressed in small quantities every few months to ensure the highest level of nutrients.
WORKING WITH CO-OPERATIVES
Working directly with the cooperatives means we can supply the freshest pure, organic oils and other natural products at the best possible price.
The cooperatives work along the entire agroecological chain, from cultivation and production to transformation, packaging, and commercialization.
The profits from these products finds its way back into these communities.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT
EMPOWERING WOMEN
Women's Cooperatives enable autonomous income generation, create educational programming, give rural women the opportunity to solidify their pivotal role in socioeconomic sphere as well as the ability to dictate the terms of the community's development.
This brings much-needed income to the cooperative and families of the region. It has emancipated the women by offering them a real, sustainable living wage and independence. Women are now able to shape their own destiny and move ahead to develop their cooperatives.
COVID-19 IMPACT
Despite the COVID-19 crisis, members of the women led Cooperatives continue harvesting aromatic and medicinal herbs while respecting physical distancing and other preventative measures to stop the spread of the virus. Due to restricted physical mobility, regional markets have been closed.
These women should be supported so that they can sell their products through online platforms, thereby mitigating the impact of the crisis on their economic situation.
While the pandemic exposes and exacerbates different forms of inequalities and vulnerabilities, it also makes clear that women are actors of change and can respond to a crisis of such magnitude.
